The Children’s Treehouse Foundation provides psychosocial intervention through its CLIMB program (Children’s Lives Include Moments of Bravery). The American Cancer Society is a nationwide, community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem. The Single Fathers Due to Cancer program, based at UNC-Chapel Hill, is dedicated to helping fathers nationwide who have lost their spouses to cancer. The program is the first of its kind in the United States and currently runs a monthly support group for fathers in NC to help to create other support groups around the country. LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is a twelve-week, small group program designed for adult cancer survivors. This program fulfills the critical need to support the increasing number of cancer survivors transitioning from completing their cancer treatment to feeling physically and emotionally strong enough to attempt to return to their normal life or their “new normal.” The program is conducted outside of medical facilities to emphasize that LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is about health, not the disease.

KnowCancer.com is an online community dedicated to connecting, educating, and empowering all people affected by the many forms of Cancer. They have created an environment where people can learn, interact, and ultimately find what they need through education and community support.

Imerman Angels carefully matches and individually pairs a person touched by cancer (a cancer fighter or survivor) with someone who has fought and survived the same type of cancer (a Mentor Angel). Cancer caregivers (spouses, parents, children, and other family and friends of fighters) also receive 1-on-1 connections with other caregivers and survivors. These 1-on-1 relationships offer the chance to ask personal questions and receive support from someone uniquely familiar with the experience. The service is free and helps anyone touched by any type of cancer, at any cancer stage level, at any age, living anywhere in the world.
