Affinity Groups

Kesem’s affinity groups promote community
for those with shared identities.

We are excited to host affinity groups for BIPOC (Black, indigenous and people of color) and LGBTQ2IA+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer or Questioning, Two-Spirit, Intersex, or Asexual) student leaders, alumni, and campers ages 11 and older.

These groups are another important way Kesem helps create a supportive and empowering community.

Community members who hold a shared or similar identity are able to meet one another, socialize, and share experiences within Kesem. Kesem staff members facilitate the meeting which include discussions and group activities.

Participation is voluntary. There is no application process, and you don’t have to attend all meetings.

Calls generally happen at least quarterly. To join an affinity group, complete the correct form below to receive invites to upcoming calls. Parents/caregivers need to complete this form for Kesem campers.

I love how supportive and encouraging everyone is. I really enjoy the conversations around identity both within Kesem, but also as individuals ourselves. It has helped me realize how important it is to seek out friends with shared identities; something I hadn't ever done before.”
